Harald got his first sliver at Grammy's house today. We went over for the regular Sunday night dinner. Then while running in to see Uncle Tyler he put his hand on the porch and got a sliver. Grammy got it out O.K and Harald got a Band-aid which made him happy

What did they do before band-aids? I picture little children crying for hours and parent bobbling around not knowing what to do about it. It seems funny to me.
Also, I remember my first sliver. My mom used some tweezers and dug at it which was worse than the initial pain of the sliver in the first place. Eventually she got it...but I don't think I got a band-aid! Jipped!
